📢 July 2023 Market Update 📢
Here's what happened in July 2023! The average sale price is down from June in most markets (except Stirling which had a great month!), days on market are higher, way less homes on the market and homes are still selling slightly under their list price. Prince Edward County saw a small increase to their average sale price which makes sense since there are lots of people visiting the area at this time of year.
As predicted, the market has slowed for the summer months, which is typical. Some people are taking this time to enjoy summer holidays and some are preparing their homes to list in the Fall as the market typically pick back up in September when kids are back in school. The July 12th + 0.25% interest rate announcement saw the market slow down again in some price points as announcements like these cause uncertainty. Since that announcement, the number of price decreases in our markets has increased as everyone needs to adjust to the new market conditions. As interest rates go up, peoples budgets get smaller.
