📢 December 2024 Market Update 📢
Here's what happened in December 2024.
Average sale price has increased in most markets and homes are selling less than asking price. (Keep in mind, big increases or decreases from month to month on average sale prices can be skewed by one or more unusually high or low sale prices). Days on market has increased, the number of new listings decreased and the number of sales were down which is typical for a December market as people are in holiday mode.
The most recent Bank of Canada announcement on December 11th, 2024 saw another big 0.50% decrease in the overnight rate. This is the 5th decrease since June 2024 which is great news for the market. We are still expecting an early and strong Spring market and a great year ahead in real estate.
